Hardwick Rescue is hiring EMS providers (experienced EMT/AEMT/Medic) for the following positions:

  • Full-time EMS provider
  • Per diem EMS provider

EMT base pay scale: $15-20/hour (based on experience)
AEMT base pay scale: $19-24/hour (based on experience)
Paramedic pay scale: $23-28/hour (based on experience)

Flexible scheduling available (12-hour or 24-hour shifts)

Additional benefits for full-time employees include paid time off, uniform allowance, tuition reimbursement/retirement match to 5%, and medical/dental.

Per diem employees receive a differential.

The ideal experienced EMT/advanced EMT/paramedic candidate has experience in being the primary patient caregiver on both two- and three-person crews. Employees report to a volunteer executive board. Duties include general care of the EMS station, ensuring readiness of ambulances and EMS equipment pre-call and working alongside a group of dedicated volunteers to deliver high-quality care to patients in a 9-1-1 response-based system.

Hardwick Rescue began in 1967 as an all-volunteer agency. In the past 20 years, volunteer decline and increased demand for services has required us to supplement our volunteer personnel with professional employees to ensure essential emergency medical services are maintained for the eight towns we serve (Hardwick, Stannard, Walden, Wheelock, Greensboro, Woodbury, Craftsbury, Wolcott).

Our agency attends approximately 800 emergencies a year. Many of our volunteers have been life-long residents of the area and have a strong drive to provide the best possible prehospital care to their neighbors. Our EMS station is conveniently located along the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail and the Hardwick Trails system. Our downtown includes several restaurants, stores, and a gym. Hardwick is also conveniently located near the Craftsbury Outdoor Center and several alpine ski resorts.

Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to perform all EMS duties
  • Licensed in the state of Vermont as an EMT, AEMT or paramedic
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful candidates will be subject to criminal background and DMV checks
  • Current or willing to become current with COVID-19 vaccines
